The MIC offers many special events and fundraisers throughout the year on select Monday and Tuesday evenings, as well as afternoons and weekends.  Our goal is to provide our members, volunteers, customers, and community members multiple opportunities to support our organization through a variety of entertaining events.  Doors open 30 minutes before the event start time unless otherwise noted.

Film Appreciation Night

Select Monday evenings - Watch everything from classic, high-interest blockbusters to lesser-known films followed by lively discussion, sometimes in the screening room, sometimes at an area restaurant!  Suggested donation of $5, with our fantastic concessions available for purchase!

An American Werewolf in London - Monday, October 18

Sponsored by T-Mobile, An American Werewolf in London celebrates its 40th anniversary this year!   This classic monster movie from director John Landis was the first film to win the Academy Award for Best Makeup with it's groundbreaking effects. Discussion will follow the 7:00 PM screening.

Lost in Michigan: Haunted & Spooky Places 

Join us as we welcome Mike Sonnenberg, the author of Lost in Michigan: History and Travel Stories From an Endless Road Trip. Mike Showcases interesting and historic locations around Michigan, and will be sharing stories of places around the Great Lake State with tragic histories. From old lighthouses to forgotten cemeteries, many are believed to be haunted. Sonnenberg's work has been featured in the Detroit Free Press, and he is considered a "Michigan Expert" by USA Today and will also have copies of his books on hand for sale.

Sensory-Friendly Screening of Finding Nemo

We'll keep the lights on, turn the sound down, and let our customers respond to the movie in whatever manner comes natural to them, no judgment or expectations in terms of behavior. Tickets are only $2 per customer, and you will pay at the door for this event.  However, seating is limited to 70 for this show, so please let us know how many seats we should reserve for you and your guests by reserving them at the link below. Doors will open at 12:30 pm, and seating will be first come, first serve. Our cinema does have space for two wheelchairs, so please indicate whether you want to reserve one of those spots.  Thank you to Kids in Motion Pediatric Therapeutic Services for sponsoring this event!
